School finished!

June 25, 2008

Hi all,

Today was my last day  of school and here I am, at home! I am ready for the summer. I will be entering grade 12 next year, but I will not be graduating in June. My final semester starts September 2010.

I have a few things to do right now. I want to clean up my desk. Maybe I will start blogging every day. Please cheer me along! I will make another blog post today about the cleaning.

Top 100 Award – Again!

June 11, 2008

Hi all,

I got yet another invitation for this school year. 2007/2008. I suspect that the sub jects that I show outstanding achievement in are English and Co-op. I feel happy this year, even though it is  ending for summer. I will go to the awards tomorrow night! I am excited! My interpreter will be there to interpret.

New semester, new courses

April 30, 2008

Hey all,

I am sorry for not making a post in a long time.

Anyway, getting to the point. After the first semester, I’m now in the second semester. My courses are:

  • Co-operative Education (2 periods)
  • English
  • Accounting

It has been a very busy time for me, and I need to deal with it somehow, someway, somewhen… I don’t know when it will ever stop.

Thanks for reading,

One month left to school

August 4, 2007

Hi all.

School is soon, on September 4. Alredy, it’s one more month! Summer has been going on really fast, and I miss school already! So, come around the corner, school!

I’m excited because I’ll be mentoring grade 9’s as part of the Link program at my school.

Nominated for my school’s Top 100 Award!

June 1, 2007

Hi all.

This morning at school, I got an invitation to a celebration of my school’s Top 100. Transportation has been arranged, so I will be there.

I was so happy about this that I showed the invitation to a lot of students and a few teachers at school.

School interpreter – probably changing

February 21, 2007

Hi all.

Well, my current school interpreter (Leanne) told me that the local school board is currently interviewing a new interpreter, and that this new interpreter might be working with me instead of Leanne in the next few months.

What do I think about this?

Well, frankly, why change things when they work? Just for a comparison, I use my EXTREMELY OLD HP PRINTER that doesn’t even support scanning or copying all the time instead of my all in one Lexmark printer because it isn’t compatible with both operating systems that I use (Windows and Ubuntu). My HP printer WORKS ALL THE TIME!

I have been with Leanne for over a year and I have developed a good bond with her over that period. I don’t want to see her go. So I feel that this change is not very fair at all to both of us because it won’t work.

Leanne will quit if this happens at all.

Well, I’m off for now.

School meeting on Monday

February 1, 2007

Hi all.

On Monday at 2:30, we had a school meeting, discussing on whether or not I would move up from the applied level to the academic level.

The people present there included an interpreter, Donna May.

I decided to try an academic class of science next semester. I have until the end of February to decide if I like this class or not.

I hope that this experiment (hah!) will prove successful.

Exams done

January 31, 2007

Hi all.

I finished up on my exams. The exams, ordered by date, were as follows:

  • Thursday Jan 25: Civics (period 1)
  • Friday Jan 26: Family Studies (period 2)
  • Monday Jan 29: Woodworking (period 3)
  • Tuesday Jan 30: English (period 4)

Overall, these exams went great. I hope that I pass all of those exams!

On Monday, there was a meeting, which I will discuss in a later blog post.

All about my school

January 6, 2007

Hi all.

Since I’m going to school on Monday, I want to tell you all about my school.

I will not disclose the school’s name here in order to protect my privacy, and also to avoid making this post longer than it should be.

I’m in grade 10, and am grade rep on the Student Activity Council. I help out on the SAC sometimes.

I have many friends at school who I hang out with. Some of them know a bit of ASL.

One friend that I’d like to note here. Emily. I hang out with her almost everyday at lunch time, and I know her brother (Adam) as well. Both of them know some ASL.

If you have any questions, just ask.

Thanks

Kyle Brooks
